Iran has slapped down the Olive branch offered by Obama,where does this leave the Liberals?

Is this the olive branch you are talking about? Because I can’t find any shred of news talking about Iran doing any such thing. In fact that article indicates they are doing just the opposite.

Demanding an appology from the US for past war crimes is hardly a good starting point for freinship making,also the demand for removal of all troops from Iran and Afghanistan.

Is that not a slap?

Well I haven’t seen this in any news articles since obama has been in office, if you could link it maybe I would bother argueing with it. Also, in all fairness Iran is not out of line making a complaint about american troops occupying countries on both sides of thier border. It is rather threatening.

Also,the other Middle East Countries would not be jumping through hoops.

I’m pretty sure that the letter Obama and his team are drafting for the people of Iran isn’t even complete. So that means he hasn’t actually extended the olive branch yet.

The saber rattling from Ack-madinejad is just that. He’s definitely waiting to hear what Obama has to say.

This has been said before, but it bears repeating: It’s a mistake to think that Ahmadinejad is “the Iranians”. He has relatively little actual power in government. Basing our policy toward Iran on his inflammatory spewings would be akin to the Iranians thinking Rush Limbaugh is “the Americans”.

I think your man may have said he’d like to have dialogue with Iran.
But I’ve always thought the man heading Iran was a bit of a wierdo? but then I don’t know much about him other than that he has a strong dislike of the US, and probably anything Western…

They talk the talk. But can they walk the walk?

I think that when talks get serious, they will be serious.

There is a lot of difference between what goes on publicly, and what happens in secret. If you think all this talk in public represents everything that is happening, I have a bridge I’d like to sell you, cheap.

It leaves us a long way from instigating another war right away.

Iran doesn’t exactly invite people over to visit for a cup of tea and a scone, so it’s low on my list of places I should visit…
