The point was to entice people to upgrade to the “ultimate” exp.

I have every confidence that M$ would have devoted more resources to fleshing out the Ultimate extras program had Vista not recieved such bad press from the get-go…
It appears as though they had to divert their attention to spin-control, so they could not deliver on one of the most redeeming qualities of the OS…

Ohh the irony…

I’m pretty sure that like everything else having to do with Vista…they were just trying to be as good as Apple. Everything about Vista is OS X light.

@adreamofautumn, I’m not sure if OS X light really applies here. Have you ever seen the bloated dwm.exe presentation system? And how the system looks totally fugly without it?
How about the packaged service hosts that don’t allow you to axe that without axing networking as well.

OS X lite? How about OS X’s ugly, overweight sister who needs to take a hint that she should have stopped bulking up about 10 years ago in order to remain shall we say? virile.

Yah, people pay top dollar for a crappity-smack OS, they deserve some serious value extras, right?

Ooooooohhhh! They have moving desktop backgrounds and… wait for it… a Hold ‘em Poker Game!

Man, how on earth can Mac OS X ever hope to compete by charging less than 1/2 the price of Vista Ultimate?!?~

You can’t forget the ability to display the OS in other more than one language(s). That’s apparently extra to those clowns.

By the way, @robmandu, you are hopelessly incorrect.

OS X is less than half than the price of Ultimate…

$(130/400) = .325

absolutely none….

By the way:

We have *.exe now in OSX ???

@blastfamy, I didn’t edit my quip after seeing yours (it’s been about an hour or so)... I did say LESS than.

Regardless, we have the same intent.

@robmandu, sorry, I didn’t see the “less than”. “hopelessly incorrect” was an attempt at sarcasm. If it came off as harsh, I apologize.
