Is it me, or have there been more newcomers than usual?

Probably, and I’m just guessing here, but people who have been voting at the SXSW awards have been checking out some of the sites.

I’m sure there was an influx of members when the Askville mess went down. I’m one of them from there. I know a lot of people on here now that was over there. I go there when I get a question forwarded to me, but that’s about it anymore. I find it much more peaceful here.

There was another Askville mess?

@Marina I mean when there was all the banning & suspending going on. It’s been several months ago now, but some never came back.

@jbfletcherfan yeah, the frikken drama over at askville was fucking retarded. This site is so much better, and as you said, peaceful.

I was wondering the same thing. It seems like a lot of younger people have joined, all at once. I wondered where they had all found Fluther.

I feel like I’ve seen quite a few that have popped up once but never come back, although sometimes I wouldn’t complain about that second part…

Hmmm. Since some of us are transplanted Askvillers, I wonder just how welcome we are here.

I say all are welcome. I’ve never been to askville personally, so I’m not sure what to think of the transplants from that site.

The Askvillers have been here for quite a while now. I don’t think this question has to do with you guys at all. At least in my mind, recent is about the last two weeks. I also wouldn’t say the newcomers are unwelcome at all. Just surprising.

@jbfletcherfan: I wasn’t dissing on Askville transplants, I was dissing on people who come, ask one stupid question about their boyfriend, leave a couple lame answers on some other threads, and disappear.
