Is there a shortcut to fill cells for excel for mac? I can't figure it out.

For windows it is control/D

In Excel 2004 it’s the same—I checked it out on my machine. I don’t have access to Office 2008, but I’m guessing it’s the same.

Bonus: control-d is fill down and control-r is fill right.
