How do I care for a goat doe whose kid died?

Momma goat rolled on her kid and it died after 3 days. What do I do to help the still lactating goat?

My grandfather would buy a new kid, skin the dead one and strap the hide of the dead kid on the new kid, in hopes the mother will except it.

Consider milking the goat, if you want the lactation to continue. Otherwise, it should dry up naturally. Seek the guidance of your vet, too.
