Who are the heroes for Truth,Peace and Progress that you think should be wider known,and why?

I would love to hear your arguments for how Bill Hicks and Neil Peart are heroes for truth, peace and progress. Heroes for comedy and kick-ass rock and roll drumming? Yes. Heroes for truth, peace and progress? Sell me.

My candidate for a hero for truth, peace and progress that deserves to be better known is Blake Mycoskie, founder of Toms Shoes.
