Why can't I put videos and music on my iPod touch?

I down loaded iTunes v7.5 and wen I try to put on music or videos it says can’t sync iPod not connected… Grrrrr WTF?

Eject your iPod, Hold down the Hold Button until the ‘Power Off Slider’ appears and shut down your iPod.
Quit iTunes and re-open it. Then Turn on your iPod and when it is fully turned on, connect it to your computer.
