Does anyone else hate Time Warner Cable's new menu/OS?

Asked by drdoombot (8145points) August 14th, 2009

The responsiveness of the new menu is sluggish. But I can deal with that.
I really hate the changes to the OnDemand stuff. With the new menu, you can no longer see how long a movie/show will be available. If you pause a movie for longer than a few minutes, you get kicked back all the way to the beginning of the menu, so you have to navigate your way to the movie again.

TWC took it upon themselves to update the cable box’s OS automatically. After a few days, I called to complain, and the customer representative directed me go to their website where I could fill out a complaint form. The site didn’t have one…

Personally I despise Time Warner in general and refuse to have anything to do with them. I am not surprised that their innovation isn’t one, nor that they have no complaint form.

We switched first to an independent satellite company, and then when the new 7th floor of the hospital blocked the signal, to Grande, which has been fine.

I like some things, hate others, I dunno.

I do agree it’s sluggish as hell. I think that depends more on the old hardware though, maybe newer boxes will be faster.
