Where are you coming from? That’s going to effect the answer.

Almost regardless of where you are coming from, if you watch for deals between now and then, you can usually get a pretty cheap trip to NYC. It’s one of the really common destinations for fare sales. Having said that, @eponymoushipster is absolutely right—we can help much more if we know where you are starting.

@panspermia well, honestly, flying really is going to be your best bet. NYC can be expensive, however, due to taxes and fees associated with flying.

Are you planning on touring the States, or just visiting NYC?

You might check flying into Philadelphia, which is about 2 hours south of NYC. You can take a train from the airport in Philadelphia to NYC for about $50 (or so). The airline tickets may be less, too.

Another option is to fly from Istanbul to London on a discount carrier, like RyanAir, and then find a cheap ticket from London to NYC. You may have to spend a day or two in London, though.

Also, what time of year you’re visiting will affect the price greatly. Summertime typically is the most expensive time to fly. You might consider moving your trip to the spring or fall, and you’ll find you save some money.

The Chinatown bus to New York City from Boston/Philadelphia/Washington DC/Baltimore is an inexpensive way to get into the city from those locations.

Farecast in www.bing.com can help you figure out when the cheapest airfare is.

@PandoraBoxx yes, chinatown bus is a good suggestion too.

Agreeing with @PandoraBox.

My niece takes the China Town bus from New York to Boston (and back) numerous times for as little as $17.00US one way. It’s called the Bolt Bus.

Perhaps you can fly to Boston for less.

@patg7590, does a farecast-like site exist elsewhere?

If you can, find a group that’s going. When I was a senior in high school, my friends and I found a drama group about 40 miles from our high school that was going to New York. It cost like $700 for a 5-day stay, that included hotel, breakfast & dinner @ the hotel, plane tickets there and back, and luxury spa service for 2 of the days.

first of all , thank you for all the suggestion you gave me @eponymoushipster

and @jho1188 ,I am almost constantly disappointed ‘bout how to earn some good money…but you give me a glimmer of hope….If i find either a friend of mine or a group of people it’ll be good :)Thank you!

There are tour trips offered to NY from Contiki, if you are interested in a group trip.
