Anyone tried electronic cigarettes?

Asked by rhodes54 (415points) August 17th, 2009 from iPhone

Sure, they’re are hundreds of info sites out there, but most of them seem to be affiliates. I’m just looking for some actual user experiences, comparisons of the different brands, best places to order etc

I have a co-worker that came into my office with one about 4 months ago. It looked ridiculous. He used the electronic cigarette for around 3–4 weeks. Needless to say he is back to smoking 10 cigarettes a day. Don’t waste your money. Go get the patch, and just begin to cut down on how many you smoke per day.

yea, i got one a while back. its cool in the sense that you can smoke different flavors (chocolate, coffee, cherry, vanilla, even cookies and cream!) lol. but i had problems with it and had to return in, and have the same problem with this one. you have to smoke it a “certain way” with a certain amt of draw, and in a certain time with a certain break inbetween draws, or it “freezes” and blocks you for 3 minutes. its VERY annoying. other than that, its cool to relax with and can make awesome thick smoke.

i also might add that i recently saw an article that was entitled “Electric Cigarettes DO cause cancer!” and it went on to say that a key ingredient in the two leading brands of e-cigarettes is the main ingredient in Anti-freeze. needless to say, that scared me a little.

No. Just electronic heroin for me.

If you smoke electronic cigarettes, instead of lung cancer, do you get the blue screen of death?

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

@eponymoushipster only if you are a TeleTubbie.

The whole idea of “an electric cigarette” just seems completely ridiculous to me. It seems like either you smoke or you don’t. I don’t think I would waste my money on it.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@Ashalah plus you get all those bits in your lungs. 1s and 0s everywhere.

Doesn’t seem practical always having to find a spare outlet when the cravings hit.

futurelaker88's avatar

@NaturalMineralWater – you dont need an outlet, the charge lasts over a day.

NaturalMineralWater's avatar

@futurelaker88 Duh. It was a joke. I guess my currency of humor is better spent elsewhere. XD

futurelaker88's avatar

@NaturalMineralWater – lol so was mine. the fact that the cigarette has a charge was a follow up joke, so i guess we’re both worse than we think lol :X

@futurelaker88 XD that’s awesome. lol..
