Now that Milo has caught mouse #30 since July 1, what's a good reward?

Asked by gailcalled (54644points) September 12th, 2009

Oops. Make that #31, even though it was very small and wrapped in grass. It still counts, right? Diamond ear stud, wild salmon steak, bronze medal?

I have heard through the grapevine (Molly) that Milo is wanting a tattoo of a mouse at the base of her tail. Sort of like a “tramp stamp.” Not sure if the rumor is correct.

@teh_kvlt_liberal: The cat who would be king.

Get him fixed. He might appreciate the irony.

perhaps take it to the taxidermist, and have it stuffed with catnip…

gailcalled's avatar

@eponymoushipster: Too late, sadly. And I’m the only one in this household who does irony.

@GeorgeWood: Too late, sadly. We already have a little cemetery for little mice in the woods.

eponymoushipster's avatar

@gailcalled put ‘em in a rattle with some catnip. now THAT’S irony.

Perhaps you could let him catch more mice? Isn’t that reward enough in itself?

His own page at LOLCats? Give him a rabbit and let him prove his predator status once and for all?

Try a snackpack. My cat goes absolutely insane when I even open one, they are his favorite thing in the world.

If he would be king, let him.

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

@augustlan Milo would kill her if she dressed him up like that. Especially if she posted pics on the Internet.

I think he would like a very discreet diamond ear stud, just like the Egyptian cats had.

If you like crafts projects you could make him a lovely celebratory necklace from little mice teeth.

If you really want to impress him, you could also boil and bleach the bones to add into the necklace for a festive kind of “witch doctor” look.

Of course you’ll have to take a little sojourn out to mousey cemetery with a trowel….

But hey I’m not the one who decided to prematurely bury them all, now am I ?

I can just hear him singing now:

oo ee oo ah ah
ting tang wallah wallah bing bang

Oo ee oo ah ah
Ting tang wallah wallah bang bang

:D

who counts the mice their cat brings in?

markyy's avatar

@YARNLADY Someone that needs 30 to complete a recipe?

Get that cat some cheese and traps, business cards and place an ad in the golden pages (give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he’ll eat for a lifetime).

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

@markyy That is supposed to read “Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he’ll sit in a boat wearing an ugly hat and drink beer all day.”

I do like the business cards idea, though.

GA @markyy – I could use him here on the bush rats!

Milo here; It’s an odd night. I find myself speechless, particularly after looking at Auggie’s post.

gailcalled's avatar

MIlo here; To vary things a bit, for #32, I brought in a juvenile chipmunk today.

Hey, M-kitty. I’ll be truly impressed when you bring in a moose. Have Gail take a picture.

Meanwhile I think she should put up one of those thermometer charts like they use for pledge drives to show your ascending progress against a goal of, oh, let’s say six hundred.

augustlan's avatar

Poor baby chipmunk. :(

gailcalled's avatar

@augustlan: Are you kidding? They have and do eat/en hundreds of crocus, tulip, squill, and other small bulbs. And that’s just in my fields.

@Jeruba; That’s a lot of mice, even for me. But thanks for the vote of confidence. xox M
