Uploading music to iPod w/o losing music already installed?

Asked by Lachanel5 (1points) October 25th, 2009

Would like to upload music to my iPod from the new computer without losing the music that has already been uploaded from the old computer. Is there a way to not lose the music that comes from CDs that I put on my old computer and then loaded onto the iPod or do I have to reload all the CDs onto the new computer and then to the iPod?

Yeah, plug in your ipod, and select it in the menu on the left of itunes. Click “Manually manage” or something similar, don’t really rememeber.. Now you can just drag and drop the music you want.

I once was unaware that iTunes would remove all music already on my iPod when there was nothing in its library. My “solution” is to not use iTunes but gtkpod (or yamipod or whatever).

Do not use you iPod as a way to store music. Make sure that it is on your computer too. So the real question becomes how do I transfer music from my iPod to my computer and have iTunes recognize it. We can help with that.

Mac or Windows? Lets start there.
