Have you ever been caught by someone while doing something that appears to be weird on the surface?

Asked by jfos (7392points) November 16th, 2009

One time, I drove to an automotive parts store with my friend because when he was there earlier in the day, he threw a bag of trash from his car into the trash can there. He accidentily threw out the bag that had his weed in it. Needless to say, he walked over to the trash can (in an area with a moderate amount of people), opened the lid, dug down, and carried his bag back to the car.

Have you ever been in a situation of this caliber?

Oh all the time. My friends have a penchant for getting into really strange situations, and then calling me.

One time I snuck my friend in to a psychiatric hospital (she had gotten out on her own, but needed help sneaking back in).

Have you ever been in a situation of this caliber? Reminds me of…

Dr. Evil: “I like to see girls of that… caliber. By “caliber,” of course, I refer to both the size of their gun barrels and the high quality of their characters… Two meanings… caliber… it’s a homonym… Forget it.”

@erichw1504 I recently rewatched that… so funny.

@jfos Absolutely, one of the funniest movies of the 90’s.

People catch me either talking to myself or playing with and talking to spiders. While on the surface this might not seem odd, when you are wearing a security uniform, it only adds to the bizarreness of the situation. I can’t help it; the talking to myself is a habit I’ve had for years, and being an arachnophile; well, people must question my sanity when they see me treating a spider like most people treat a kitten.

That’s all that happens in my apartment. My roomies and I actually have a blog about the weird activities we partake in. For example:

“2:45am: Ali is hanging out in her room while Jane and Kelly drink with the neighbor boys. Ali begins to change Wicket’s litter box when Jane comes over from across the hall to inform her of the night’s events. Jane runs into Ali’s room with a bright orange hunting hat and Ali screams and almost has a heart attack.”

“2:00am: Ali goes to the kitchen to put some dishes in the sink. She stumbles upon Jane frantically rubbing the carpet outside her door and mumbling something about “god damn seams”

to name a few…

I’ve seen once a man which was dragging a little girl to a place and he has saying to her that he’s taking her to place where bad people are going to beat her.
Of course when I heard that I freaked out and I followed them.
So after half an hour I discovered that the girl was taken to a kid party center where she had a surprise party.
Of course that after that I became nervous because I lost half an hour for that s****t

One afternoon this past summer, my kids and I went bug hunting in the back yard. We spread out a white sheet under some tree branches, then I beat on the tree branches with the rake handle. Whatever bugs fall onto the sheet can easily be seen, and the kids scoop them into jars. When something particularly exciting gets knocked out of the tree, we all act like idiots. Then we move the sheet to another spot and try again.

Our backyard is relatively private, but the neighbors on one side can see into our yard from their driveway. Once I looked over and saw them standing there watching us. They’ve never mentioned it, but I wonder what they thought we were up to. That same afternoon, a guy from the oil company stopped by to service our furnace. When I didn’t answer the door, he came around back just as I was beating the crap out of some tree branches. I told him we were collecting bugs, but he still looked at me funny.

Kind of embarrassing, but we did find a couple of shield bugs and katydids that my son didn’t already have in his collection. :)

I have a toy from McDonalds on my keys, and when I am just hanging out on my own, I talk to it. I have always been like that. I guess it is a way for
me to not feel alone.

lol, what a great question

I have been caught many, many, many, many times doing something weird from your point of view, lucky for me I think fast on my feet and can usually come up with a reasonable excuse as to why I’m doing it..

Psychedelic_Zebra's avatar

@tyrantxseries but how do you explain your pants around your ankles?

Psychedelic_Zebra's avatar

@MissAusten they probalby called the Arbor Day Foundation and reported you for abusing trees.

MissAusten's avatar

Oh no, I hope they don’t put my trees into foster care!

LOL at your question, that sounds brilliant!

Well the most recent was my friend had a tag on the back of her jeans that said something interesting and I was trying to read it but I couldn’t quite see it, we were sitting on a sofa in our common room at school, so she leaned over and lifted her butt up and I was staring at this tag intently (it had some joke or pun on it), which is when our Head of Sixth Form walks in to talk to the year and just stares at us,
me staring intently at my friends butt while she is happily obliging helping me get a better view.

Though I guess the situation was actually weird one to begin with.. It was weirder to outsiders.
