No offence, but this is coursework. You are kinda meant to do that alone.

The question you have been given is by no means hard (speaking as someone that has recently completed his Philosophy A-level). Just do some research and your essay will be written in no time :-)

What’s your interpetation of the work?

If you state what you think of it then people are more likely to give you constructive feedback, but if you openly solicit people to do your homework for you, you’re not as likely to get much positive response.

Why pick one of the most fascinating subjects and not want to engage in it, bit immature, go and read. No one forced you to do A Levels? it isn’t compulsory.

I was asking for ideas. Not asking you to do my work. Why is everyone so unfriendly on fluther!?

@sophillyk people are not unfriendly on Fluther but some people have strong feelings about coursework questions and answers.. I personally think it’s fine to ask for advice.

I would say

…obviously read the relevant text, noting your reactions to it..but,

a) establish what Mill is saying and what his views are
b) do you agree or disagree?
c) is it relevant to today’s’ society and it’s views on liberty?
d) “significance” is an important word here… can you apply it?
e) most of all…what ARE the implications of implementing his views? i.e. IF we gave everyone the freedom to speak and act according to their own… and solely their own judgement what would THEN happen..what are the consequences…
f) form and argument and back it up with relevant interesting examples…
g) diplomacy is always a good bet with philosophy.. the nature of the beast..unless you’re a very good philosopher and can argue like a beast!

hope this helps
