Do you think there should be a personal question query on fluther?

Asked by mowens (8403points) November 22nd, 2009

I am sometimes in a mood where I come up with a lot of questions. I’d like to ask all the questions to fluther at the same time… as I come up with them, but sometimes I hit my question limit. Do you think we should have some sort of “on deck” questions saved? Maybe post them as soon as our question limit for the day is no longer met. Just a thought.

Having the limit forces us to stop and listen. I like it the way it is.

Interesting idea. It would not work for me though. I am too curious and would seek out the answer and find it before my question made it out of que.

That being said I have never asked enough questions to reach my daily limit.

I think there is a fluther blog, I have never looked at it, maybe you would like soemething like that?

I am fine with the limit, I can record my thoughts on a word document and later decide whether to go ahead and ask or not on a different day.

I’ve asked hundreds of questions, first as Zen and now as NewZen. Truthfully – most of them were crap. I call them wiseass questions, or good for a laugh questions. I have since given that up (mostly) and tend to focus more on reading others’ and answering – when I know the answer. I’d keep my questions on a notepad (or virtual notepad) and wait til I could post new ones. I agree with @Judi – three is plenty for a day. If you have more questions than that, consult an encyclopedia. More than three personal questions at a time? Maybe you just need a good friend, Mom or a shrink/Priest. No offense.

Nah. You can always just type them in the next day.

That process might be cumbersome to implement.
The chat room is underutilized but very helpful for personal questions.
Our fellow jellies are good listeners and very understanding.

I understand why the limit is there, I just forget what I was going to ask, or I lose my momentum. Like if I was in the right mood, I could type out an awesome question about something I felt strongly about at that moment in time. The next day, I may not be so passionate, and the community suffers. :)

I sometimes jot down random thoughts and save them in “notepad” for later.
Very few of those ever find their way to Fluther but at least they’re saved somewhere if they ever need to be copied and pasted somewhere. They rarely do.

@The_Compassionate_Heretic The lost fluther questions…

My fellow moderators would surely mod the hell out of me if I posted everything I thought.

What if there was a weekly limit (comparable to the daily limit of questions) we are allowed to ask instead of a daily limit? hmmmm

I keep a sticky note on my mac dashboard for if I come up with something but don’t have the time to type it out right away or I’ve reached my limit for the day. That way, when I look at the weather the next day, I’m reminded to ask it.

That would be a cool idea, sort if like a queue.

open notepad/a notepad
type your questions/write them down
when your queue rolls over, ask some of them.

low tech, but works like a charm.
