Why does my fluther bookmark periodically disappear from the menu bar?

Asked by gailcalled (54644points) December 8th, 2009

I am using Safari 4.0.4 on a iMac Snow Leopard. There is room for more bookmarks on the bar; some stay permanently, like Amazon and Tinypic. Others vanish, like weather.com and fluther.
Curious. Any ideas?

Maybe Milo feels like those take up too much of your time and he’s deleting them.

You might be inadvertently dragging the bookmarks off the bookmark bar when you click them. Or you might be adding other bookmarks that force the disappearing bookmarks to slide off to the right. Click the double right arrows at the right end of the bar and see if your bookmarks show up in the drop down menu that appears.

@kevbo: This new OS does not have the little double right arrows on the far right. My last one (leopard) did. That was the first thing I thought of. There must be a mechanism for stacking the bookmarks that I cannot find.

And fluther disappears on a regular basis whereas Amazon just keeps on going. It is not a life-threatening problem, just annoying.

That cat may be a whole lot smarter than he gets credit for.

Maybe Milo is trying to gaslight you :)

@Allie @Buttonstc: It would be difficult to give Milo any more credit for brains. He is the Mensa member, not me.
