How does one easily print t-shirts?

Asked by sliceswiththings (11723points) December 20th, 2009

I want to quickly print two t-shirts. In my ideal world, I would make the design on the computer, print it (in color) onto a magical iron-on paper that doesn’t jam my printer, iron it onto to the shirts, and have it stay perfectly there forever.

How I go about this?

Kinko’s did this for me about 15 years ago.

Slightly more costly, but amazing quality: You can pay a local screen-printer to make you a screen and print a few shirts.

The upside is professional ‘forever’ quality vs. iron-on.
The downside: possible time frame problem.

Yeah, I don’t have time to order it, and if I do it online I think I have to order a whole bunch (but I love cafepress).

I have always made the design on my computer, printed it on that special color ink-jet iron on paper, and then ironed it on the shirts while carefully following the directions on the packet of paper.

And while they don’t last forever they have always lasted long enough for the kids to out-grow them.
