What are your thoughts on another Kill Bill film?

Asked by Vunessuh (16727points) December 22nd, 2009

Rumors surfaced years ago that the idea for a Kill Bill Vol. 3 was in the works. Now, it looks like it’s official.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1521225/

This is the rumored premise of the film: An armless Sofie Fatale and a blind Elle Driver seek revenge on Beatrix Kiddo.

It appears as if it won’t be released till 2014.

I’ve also heard rumors about a Kill Bill Vol. 4, where Vernita Green’s daughter, Nikki, seeks revenge on Kiddo for the murder of her mother.

What are your thoughts?
Are you excited? Annoyed? Indifferent?
I know plenty of people who can’t stand the Kill Bill films and others who are die hard fans.
Personally, I adore Tarantino films and can’t wait. Plus, he’s bringing Sofie Fatale back. Big props to that. :)
Should Tarantino let these films die? Or should they live on?

Tarantino films are an acquired taste.

Nawh…. Let’s just keep the two already made . I’m tired of all the sequals they keep adding to a successful film .

Blackberry's avatar

Yes…..bring it on.

Vunessuh's avatar

@HighShaman You make a good point. That is usually the case with most films that have sequels. Tarantino is pretty smart though. I have a feeling it’s gunna be one helluva ride.

jessegavin's avatar

I would rather he make more movies like Inglorious Basterds than waste time on Kill Bill movies.

Vunessuh's avatar

@jessegavin I loved IB. Definitely more than Kill Bill. I partially agree, but Kill Bill is just good fun.

Please, no!

Fuck Kill Bill

Hey, look at that; I’ve even come up with a title for a movie that I’ll never watch.

PretentiousArtist's avatar

Not a big fan of his work, but I’m willing to give it a chance

Vunessuh's avatar

@syz @CyanoticWasp @PretentiousArtist Thanks you three. That has been the reaction of many of my friends as well.

I never watched the first two. I don’t care. I won’t watch the third.

Bill is dead dammit.

Vunessuh's avatar

LOL. indeed he is.
It’s all about revenge though and since Kiddo isn’t dead, I suppose it lives on.

OK, I’m a big Tarantino fan and have been since I saw Reservoir Dogs. So, when I first heard that he was making a martial arts film, not being a fan of the genre, I suspected this would be the first of his films I didn’t care for. But he proved me wrong, they were positively amazing. Then I heard about Grindhouse, and though I loved the idea for the Zombie feature done by Rodriguez, I wasn’t sure about a movie about fast cars, again not my favorite genre, but damn if he didn’t prove me wrong again. I am also no fan of war movies, so when I heard about Inglorious Basterds, I again was a little uneasy, but for a third time he has transcended genre and made a true work of glorious cinematic art unlike anything else out there. So, he could make 20 Kill Bills, he could make a movie about dirt bikes, or boll weevils or Hello Kitty and I’d still see it and probably love it. One could lose a LOT of money betting against Tarantino’s creative vision, whatever he puts out I’ll just sit back and not question anymore.

Would Bill get killed this time hanging himself while jerking off?

If so, I give it the green light.

Anything Tarantino wants to do…Kill Bill, or otherwise…is alright with me.

I loved both KB1 and KB2, so I look forward to 3 and 4.
3 will probably be a lot like the Shogun Assassin movie BB was watching (I have loved that movie for at least 30 years). BB will learn the ropes.
In the mean time, Nikki will learn from Sofie and Elle.
In the final showdown, Nikki will shoot BB, not knowing that BB is impervious to bullets!

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

They can’t be Kill Bill if Bill is already dead. They should be called Die, Kiddo.

Vunessuh's avatar

Nice to know that so many of you stick by Tarantino’s decisions.
@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities LOL. That was my suggestion. :)

Vunessuh's avatar

@dalepetrie I agree. If he wanted to make a Pokemon movie, I’d still go see it.

filmfann's avatar

I can beat that. If he made Death Proof 2, I’d probably…rent it.

Normally I would say “no” to any sequel attached to an already fantastic film (or duo of films in this case) but my faith in Q.T. is monumentally deep.

Also, I think the revenge of Nikki would be awesome. I wonder about that every time I watch the movie.

Vunessuh's avatar

@ubersiren I do as well. Thanks. :)

I loved the Kill Bill movies (particularly Vol. 1), but I think he should leave it be. The story’s finished.

avvooooooo's avatar

@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities I agree, the title would have to change. That was my primary dislike of the idea.

shego's avatar

No, no, no! I hate the Kill Bill movies with a passion. They are really boring.
So I just vote no!

Thanks everyone.

Dammit… not another Tarantino movie my husband is going to force me to watch. I can’t frickin’ stand Tarantino.

silky1's avatar

Well with Bill being dead and the list of people to kill completed where is the story line going? sometimes when something is good it’s best to leave it that way.

Vunessuh's avatar

@silky1 Read what I wrote in details. Apparently, that is where the story line is going. It’s just rumors though. Perhaps something more intricate is in the works.

Only138's avatar

I love the Kill Bill movies….although we’ll need a new “Bill” I guess. :)

CMaz's avatar

There is always Keith Carradine.

Mikelbf2000's avatar

Good movies but the Kill Bill vol. 2 has a finality to it. She got revenge. Maybe they should leave at that since its such a good movie. Afriad a third one may ruin it.

Sampson's avatar

Huge Tarintino fan here… If the Kill Bill franchise carried on, it would have to be in different way, obviously. But if/when it comes out, I will watch it intently. Tarintio=brilliant film maker.
