What is the best TV/DVD combo?

Asked by hobo1234 (23points) December 23rd, 2009

I am trying to find a small TV/DVD combo for my daughter’s room. It’s a small room with not much space for a separate DVD player. I would just like to mount this on the wall. Toshiba is probably the biggest maker of TV/DVD combos, but I have read negative reviews of the sound/volume levels. Anyone have suggestions/recommendations?

Is your daughter young?
Reason I ask because the picture quality and sound might not mean anything to her.

If that is the case, I would go with as cheap as possible.
Not concerning myself with much of anything else.

My daughter is 10. Sound does mean something, regardless of your age, if you can’t hear it. Most online reviews I have read of the Toshibas is that the volume is poor. I don’t want to go too cheap. One thing I have learned in life, is that you get what you pay for. Don’t want a Coby, don’t want Dynex. I was thinking either Sharp or Toshiba, since those are the better brand names that make TV/DVD combos.

Westinghouse makes a couple of TV/DVD combos.

It will not be THAT much of a issue. Remember, reviews are from hyper sensitive people for the most part.

And, you will find they all tend to have the same guts on the inside.
The bells and whistles are what cost more and are extra.

I am sure you will make the best decision. :-)
