Can I transfer cell phone pics to my computer?

Asked by xboxfan (110points) December 24th, 2009

Can I transfer my Motorola Razr (T-Mobile) pictures to my computer? If so, how can I do it?

P.S. I have the old one. (I think. Look at the link)

Yes. Send as if you were sending to another phone or whatever, and when it asks for the phone number, type in your own E-mail address. The pic will show up in your computer’s e-mail file.

Isn’t this a Bluetooth-enabled phone? With Bluetooth on both devices (and computers have had the capability for years, too) you wouldn’t even need email. Just set up your computer to recognize and accept a connection from the phone, and send from your phone via the Bluetooth connection. (Perhaps if the phone is Bluetooth, but the computer isn’t, you can send that way to someone else’s computer and they can email to you.)

Computers have Bluetooth? That is like saying cars have air-conditioning. I know neither of my computers have Bluetooth, nor will they without some form of USB dongle. In fact, it’s not as common as you seem to imply.

Your best bet is e-mailing them to yourself. There are other ways, but they are a little more involved and may require hardware that you lack.

@jerv, what do you drive, anyway? My cars have all had air conditioning since the 1980s. The 70s, actually.

My Dell Latitude laptop is not at all state-of-the art… it’s about three years old, I think (and wasn’t state-of-the art when I got it, I’m sure). It has built-in Bluetooth.

@CyanoticWasp My wife and I have owned a few vehicles over the years; two Saturn S-series, two AE-82 Corollas, three A2 Golfs, an A3 Golf, two 4th-gen Civics, an Aerostar, a Legacy, a Corsica, and a Mazda 626. Fourteen vehicles, all different makes, all between ‘85 and ‘98, but only four air conditioners between them (of which only two worked, one was intermittent, and one was totally busted). Let’s see… 4/14 = ~29%, so over 70% of the rigs I’ve owned did not have A/C!
As for the bluetooth, not all Aspire Ones have it, only certain “trims”. The same extends to many other makes/models I’ve seen. It is becoming more common, but is not yet universal the way USB ports are.
