If you keep cigarettes in the freezer does it keep them fresher longer?

Makes for a nice, cold smoke.

You know how they say smoking cigarette smoking makes you look cool, well this is what they’re talking about.

—@jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities at least put down the beer while typing, silly. What’s “smoking cigarette smoking” ?!

Just teasing.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

@Zen_Again Oops! Yeah, perhaps it’s time to call it a night.

No no @jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities – it’s just time to write silly things in my party thread and not try to answer anything seriously.

I think it keeps the tobacco from drying up and being too harsh and burning too fast. I know this works with tobacco that’s yet to have been rolled, but I don’t know if the effect changes or is altered with an already rolled or factory made smoke.
My dad used to keep his tobacco and cigarettes in cool damp places for that reason though.

@Symbeline Cool and damp, not cold and dry. BIG difference!

Berserker's avatar

@jerv Yeah, I figured that would be more like it. I wouldn’t know…I never have enough cigarettes that I need to store some away. XD

@Symbeline I usually rol my own and sometimes buy American Spirit by the can. Considering that it takes me nearly a month to go through it (or a week to a pouch), I had to learn a little bit about loose tobacco. And after that, I have a hard time with pre-made cigs; they are always too dry, taste different, and burn wrong.

I don’t know about tobacco, but I do keep toads in my freezer. It works well.

Good question! My best friend’s grandmother keeps a lot of cigarettes in her freezer. Very strange, but she says it works!

I smoke hopefully not for long and when ever I bought more than a pack the others went in the freezer. I’m not sure if it has any other effect than I liked to have a nice cool smoke. Literally, the first few drags are quite cool and it’s nice a feeling.

jerv's avatar

I used to smoke enough that that would mean something, but now that I smoke a pack every 2–3 days as oposed to 2–3 packs a day, they wouldn’t be cool by the time I got to them.

My link didn’t work, I will try again, here is the toad link again.

Zen_Again's avatar

@Axemusica That’s what I said waaaaay up at the top – and everyone ignored me. :-(

Zen_Again's avatar

@rooeytoo Looked at the link – Uh, do you know there’s a toad in your frizzer?

Austinlad's avatar

Yes! It keeps you from pumping more poison into your lungs.

I keep my cigarettes in the freezer. I don’t notice any difference in them. That’s just where we have always kept them. We tried making our own with premade tubes and loose tobacco. We put the tobacco in the freezer and it dried it out and made it nearly impossible to pack into the machine. It was such a pain we just quit trying to save money and started buying regular smokes again. i fully realize the way to save money would be to quit smoking all together!

Axemusica's avatar

@Zen_Again I know I saw it and thats exactly how I felt about it, lol. I dunno

Zen_Again's avatar

@Axemusica Watcha smokin’? Can I bum one off ya? I’ll have one extra cold please.

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

My aunt does this and im just always surprised to see them in there.

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

@Symbeline Good idea. +GA Now if someone could just explain why I keep my shoes in the freezer.

Berserker's avatar

@stranger_in_a_strange_land You might need to reorganize a little. :D

stranger_in_a_strange_land's avatar

Yes, I should put myself in the freezer.
