My best birthday was my fortieth birthday. My husband invited several of our good friends out to dinner in Pioneer Square in Seattle and we went out clubbing afterwards.

I think it was my 6 or 7th birthday. All my friends were there and I had a Death Star cake with Tie Fighter cupcakes. The part I still remember was when my Dad got the pop out, he held Orange pop in one hand and Surge in the other. He says “what kind do you all want?”

Every year, I go out to the woods with a bunch of guy friends and get stupid. Each time is pretty great, but it’s even better in our memory. Each year, the early trips get better and better in our minds. It’s a nice tradition :)

My 40’th. My family threw me a surprise party.
Loved the first birthday. At least it looked like I did according to the photos. I had all the icing and half of the birthday cake covering my entire body.
