Is very low cholestrol dangerous?

Asked by rneville (20points) February 28th, 2008 from iPhone

I have an LDL of 28 and Hdl of 17 and triglisorites of 280 with total cholestrol of less than 100. Is this dangerous? What could happen? How do I fix it?

Well, it might be bad, or it might be good.

I don’t know. And while I’m not on the holistic health bandwagon, neither do I think medical science is always right on the money either.

My Doctor was extremely surprised by my low cholesterol for someone of my age range 18–21. Then I reminded him I was vegan and have been for 10 years and I consume absolutely no bad cholesterol whatsoever in my diet and he said “your as healthy as they can get.” it’s the bad cholesterol that is dangerous when high. the lower the bad cholesterol the healthier you and your heart are.
