Which ones are you using (just curious). I have been using Tax Slayer for years now. I like them. Quick and easy, but if you do not keep good records they will charge you $5 for accessing your prior year returns – I don’t like that at all. If you entered the exact same info, you should get the exact same outcome….

TAXACT and TURBO TAX… I have used Turbo Tax the last 3 years but the refund was lower in Fed. and Higher in state.. I have never heard of Tax Slayer. I am going to go check that out. Thank You….

I think I used tax act before… they were okay. Tax Slayer lets you file the fed for free but charges for state… That is pretty interesting that they come out different. Now I’m tempted to try different services and see if there is a diff….

I never give personal information to a website thats free. i go to Walmart and pay the price for Turbo Tax and forget it . worked fine for three years. there are hackers just waiting in the dark to use your downloaded information for their own personal use.

I think it’s totally asinine that the tax code is so complex that we need to hire people or to purchase buggy computer programs to figure it out for us.

@rarebear – Yep totally agree w/ u. Us normal people suffer, but the high rollers take advantage of all the complexities to get their tax breaks…. they probably pay less tax than I do!
