What is a quiet place to get dinner and get good beer in NYC?

Asked by JesusWasAJewbot (1510points) January 18th, 2010

Looking for a quiet restaurant that has a good beer selection, not overly expensive anywhere in the city. Would like to keep it around Manhattan if possible but not against going to different boroughs if its worth it.

Looking for something maybe more of a locals spot, doesnt get too crowded, decent burger or any kind of american food, nice beer selection. Trying to find something other then a chain resturaunt.

zaitzeff… it’s always my recommendation but the people who work there are pretty cool, burgers are fantastic, nice bar, sweet potato fries are amazing and it’s quiet. http://www.zaitzeffnyc.com/

Well….there are 18,696 restaurants in New York City
Here’s a link with good beer haunts

This sounds interesting for regional beers and I’m all about local when I travel:

Borough Food and Drink — 12 E. 22nd Street
A restaurant specializing in regional ingredients, including 30 beers from New York State craft brewers.
Phone: 212–620-0103

I gave it up but no reason you have to. Always regret never having tasted such brews as Brooklyn Lager. Enjoy one for me.

@JesusWasAJewbot : not too bad! I am not so sure about their beer selection but I know they have a full bar .... also, i’ve only been to the one on the lower east side. check out that link, there should be prices there.

Zaitzeff is subpar. At least the one in the Wall Street area.

P.S-You won’t find any self respecting New Yorker hit a chain restaurant. There’s just too much good food.
