Where can I find these flowers and chocolate?

Asked by rockstr (6points) January 12th, 2007
I making a gift for a friend on opposite sides of the country and do not want to go through 1-800-Flowers. I need to find a place in the Detroit area that sells lilies and those little plastic "blubs" that keep the flowers hydrated. Any clue where I can find the latter? Also, any good chocolate recommendations?

Stop in or phone your local friendly florist, if you have one. He/she will be able to find a florist near your friend and phone in an order. You pay w. credit card and Detroit florist arranges and delivers. ("Blubs" are routine.) For chocolates, try Googling Godiva.

Yeah but I want to make a special arrangement for the gift. I was gonna do some careful packaging which will keep the vase from moving with "This end up" markings and ship it overnight. Although it sounds like I might not be able to do that.

Actually now that I think about it, two gifts would be better for my friend to open.

check out www.burdickchocolate.com, they are the best I've found, delicious and beautiful and come in nice wooden boxes, good for guys or girls.

Shipping live flowers in a vase is really almost impossible, unless you have your own refrigerator car. That's why florists call the order in to the recipient's neighborhood flower shop. Chocs., OTOH, can be wrapped and Fed exed. Lucky friend!

Chocolate for a friend in Detroit...Sanders hot fudge. It was something everyone in Detroit in the 50's and 60's grew up with, now popular again, and available over the internet.
