Asked by DandyDear711 (1512points) February 9th, 2010

I have a “new to me” ipod nano 8gb 3rd generation. I have reset the ipod and have gotten my vista laptop to recognize it. Now I want to my desktop to recognize it cuz that is where all my music is. I have reset ipod again and removed and reinstalled latest itunes. Desktop is still not recognizing it. Help!

My computer really wants a driver for it.

In the mean time, I have copied all my music from my external hard drive onto my laptop and have loaded up my ipod. Much easier process.

Is the nano charging when you hook it up to the desktop or is it unresponsive when you plug it in?

When it is plugged into the desktop, it acts like it isn’t plugged in – will be on and show menu options etc.
