How to file a DBA (Florida)

Asked by FlutherNOW (118points) February 14th, 2010

How would I go about filing a DBA in the state of Florida. I assume I would just go to the clerk of the courts and fill out the paperwork, correct? Legalzoom wanted $150, which seems entirely too much. I do not mind doing the legwork.

Don’t tell me to form an LLC or corp. I know it is better. I simply need a business licence to register a “commercial account” at a local parts store as well as be eligible to be a “licenced bidder” on an auto auctions site.

You might want to hook up with an accountant or attorney, if you have the money…..
