What are some pc games you could recommend for me?

Asked by shpadoinkle_sue (7188points) March 1st, 2010

I haven’t bought a new pc game for a while. I’m asking for suggestions that are in the vein of Myst, Beyond Atlantis, Legend of Time. Starship Titanic is a favorite. Strategy, action/adventure, problem solving, and that type of stuff. I’m not a huge gamer. I like casual games, and I’d like something new to play. It doesn’t have to be recent, either.

I love strategic/time management games.
I would recommend The Sims 3, The Movies, Rollercoaster Tycoon 3:Platinum Edition and the Desperate Housewives game. Those are the 4 games I play the most. You’ll be sucked in for hours. :)

I’d suggest World of Goo as a puzzle/problem solver type – had me playing for hours on end! Also in the same vein (kinda =p) is Braid. I love that game :D

VVVVVV (demo available here) gets kinda addictive, if you’re into that sort of game too =]

I would recommend going to Big Fish Games and looking around. You might enjoy the Mystery Case Files games- Ravenhurst and Return to Ravenhurst are creepy, puzzle/hidden object and adventure based. You can download hour-long free trials of games there as well.

World of Warcraft or the new Star Trek Online is pretty cool. One of my favorite games though is the Sims 2 and 3 and also Eve online is pretty cool ( kinda complicated though ).

Sid Meier’s Civilization 5 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization_V
and Balders Gate 1 and 2

The games I’ve loved and played the most have been Starcraft, Warcraft, and Rise of Nations. Civilization, being a turn-based game, is a bit too slow for me, though I wasted many, many hours on it when it first came out. I prefer the real-time strategy games and RoN is pretty damn good. :)
