How can I get words off my TV screen?

Asked by sliceswiththings (11723points) March 10th, 2010

I can’t get “Video 1,” etc. to disappear off my TV screen. Any tips?

I have a Sony Tinitron.

If there’s a “display” button on your remote, click that.

I did that, and it made the time disappear but didn’t move the Video 2. I just reset the TV to un-set the time, but now when I click it it just flashes but stays.

Try consulting the TV’s user manual…?

Without knowing what TV you have the best advice I gave give is look up your model number and download the manual from the manufacturer’s site.
I’m not trying to be patronizing in any way, that’s just your best bet.

Yayyyyy! It’s fixed! Hitting Display did work, captain, but only when there was a dvd in. Now on to our movie, thanks!

There is usually a “cc” (closed caption) button on the remote.

When you get done with movie and if you have troubel look at the original remote and hit the TV/Video button until you get back to the screen you want. Our Sony has 4 settings I think from Video 1, 2, 3 , mono and then back to the regualr TV. Good luck
