What books can relate to those of the authors Laurell K. Hamilton and Karen Marie Moning?

Asked by tamkli3 (275points) May 20th, 2010

Some of the books by Laurell K. Hamilton are:
-Anita Blake Series
-Meredith Gentry Series

And from Karen Marie Moning:
-The Fever Series
-The Highlander Series

These books are fantasy/ fiction based with, yes, vampires and the fae people, also some romance is twisted into the stories, but they have a lot of action and suspensful parts in them (and some action-kick-butt chicks that know how to get down to business). And please, no Twilight- based books, there are too many of those out there.

C. E. Murphy’s Negotiator trilogy is fantastic, as is the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs.

Laurell K Hamilton’s Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series is my favorite series ever!!!!! I am still looking for The Harlequen in hard back. I’ve decided to give Seth Grahame-Smith’s version of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies a try.

@YARNLADY .. I think I’ve read a little of Keri Arthur… I’m not sure if I got into it as much as the others. Whats your opinion on it?

@andreaxjean L.K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series is my favorite too… and it’s tied with Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series… LOVE them :D

I find her books to be very good casual reading. She is on the NYTimes best seller list and received the Romance Times Career Achievement Award for urban fantasy. They may be a little too ‘graphic’ for the younger reader, but older teens and up will enjoy them. I doubt men will find them interesting, but some might.
