Photoshop CS4 (for Mac) won't open!

Asked by Grabbins (87points) May 27th, 2010

It was working fine yesterday, I try to open it this morning and it keeps ‘unexpectedly’ quitting before it opens properly. I have restarted my iMac twice now but still nothing.

I read on a forum that if I delete the Photoshop preferences file from my mac then this should work. Problem is I can’t figure out where that file is =/

I’m running OSX 10.4.11 if this helps.

Have you tried creating a new user account to see if it works under that?

That is usually what I do when I have this problem with apps after deleting the prefs doesn’t help.

@johnpowell Tried that too but no joy :(

I’m going to run the Adobe cleanscript and re-install.

Thanks for your help anyway!

That is probably your best bet. Adobe stuff litters itself really deep into the system that is outside of your User folder. Even the uninstaller doesn’t get it all. But that will hopefully work. If it happening in other user accounts something deep down is broken and what you are doing is probably the fastest fix.
