What is the nicest thing you have ever done for somebody?

I knew a woman who was raised in a horrible family (all thieves and druggies), and she was struggling to support her five children, and lazy abusive husband. She struggled very hard just to make ends meet, and still couldn’t seem to catch a break. I was so worried that she would give up and fall back into her old ways. I thought that she should see some rewards for all the hard work she was doing, so I took her and all 5 kids to an amusement park for two days. I can’t tell you how it warmed my heart watching them all have so much fun. they have never been anywhere in their lives, and the sparkle in their eyes when we first entered the park was something I will never forget.

I felt so good about doing this for them, but a couple of weeks later, I thought about it, and decided to do something that would be more helpful, rather than just fun. I gave her the money she needed to get her and her children (minus the abusive husband) into a much better home, and turned on the electricity and phone for them. I then told her that the money was a gift, and that I didn’t expect it back. She lived much better until her death a few months ago. I am thankful I was able to do this for them.
