Practice dribbling. Practice passing. Practice understanding the game and thinking about the best way to get the team to score instead of just thinking about the best way for you to score. Know what everyone else should be doing so you can be a better passer.

you want to become a PG for a PF? That’s a big jump. Did you think of this on your own or did someone tell you that you are a good passer and dribbler and that you should consider playing PG. If you are playing PF, I say you should work on playing PF, but focus on passing and posting up and dribbling around your defender. If you truly want to play PG, you need to get quick and practice dribbling every day with your head up and sometimes with two balls. Do quick dribbles, try to change directions quickly. Try to perfect a crossover. No matter what always have your head up

@alexleehafliger I played division one basketball in the SEC and believe me, it takes LOTS of work in every phrase of the game! there are no short cuts! Also, go to a good basketball camp!

How tall are you? If you’re more than about 6’4” (for HS basketball), I just wouldn’t recommend it. Chances are that no matter how tight you are with passing and dribbling, you’re still going to get the ball stolen because of the distance that you have between your dribbling hand and the floor.

So I’d certainly think about it a bit more before you go off and practice lots of PG skills, just because if you’re too tall you’re never going to play there anyway.

The two best things to do is talk to your coach, and as @BoBo1946 suggested, get into a good basketball camp that specializes in working with guards.
