To my fellow Trek Jellies: Can you help me with my 7 of 9 costume?

Asked by KatawaGrey (21483points) July 11th, 2010

For a few years now, I have been trying to put together a 7 of 9 costume. I think I can find the jump suit all right though it is dang hard to find the exact right one I can tell you and the visible cybernetic implants shouldn’t be hard to do. However, there are a couple details that I have no idea how to go about. The first is her hair. I have no idea how to get my hair in that nice neat little bun that she wears. The other is her carapace. Can my fellow Jellies help me out with this costume?

Just to clarify, any help with any part of the costume would be much appreciated but those are the two bits I see myself as having the most trouble with.

Lots of chest padding will make it more authentic.

The hair is a french twist. Pull your hair back as if for a pony tail, only instead of putting it in a rubber band, fold it in half, vertically, and then roll it into itself. hold it in place with bobby pins. I was going to suggest making the appliances out of puff paint on plastic wrap and letting them dry for a few days. They should stick to your face with a little KY Jelly; photographer trick to hold bows on heads of bald babies.

Thanks guys! @gemiwing: I saw that site a while ago and didn’t bookmark it dammit. That woman is a genius!

@josie: Trust me. I don’t need any padding in that department.
