How powerful is your brain?

Asked by RANGIEBABY (2097points) July 14th, 2010

The other night my husband came roaring out of bed with both legs cramping in the back of his thighs. He was stretching and yelling, nothing was working. I told him to stop and use his brain. Think inside his head and have his brain send a message to his thigh muscles to relax. Just keep doing it, try to follow the message down the spine and to the site. He did and after a few tries it worked, and it did not come back. I do that all the time with those annoying little muscle twitches.

Powerful enough to take over and control me in a self-destructive sort of way. It is ONE POWERFUL tool!

@ZEPHYRA why a self-destructive way? You have all the control.

A man went in for a brain transplant operation and was offered a choice of two brains by the surgeon. He could choose either the Architect’s brain which would cost him $10,000 or the Politician’s which was $100,000.

“Does that mean that the politician’s brain is much better than the Architect’s?” exclaimed the clearly puzzled man.

“not exactly” replied the surgeon, “the politician’s has never been used.”

I use to grind my teeth really bad as I slept, until I decided to chant in my head that I will relax my jaw and not grind my teeth. It worked and I’ve never done it again.
I also had a fatty growth on my elbow that would cause me to hurt my elbow when the bone would slip over it and hit the table. After having it for 2 years I finally went to the doc and he said he could give me a local and remove it or wait for it to be absorbed my my body. Not a pleasant prospect.
I didn’t like the idea of being cut open. Anyhow I went to make an appointment and the computers were down. So they told me to call tomorrow. For 3 days I just thought how great it would be if it just got absorbed like the doc said. (I did call the next day and they told me to call back again another day because the computer was down again.) By the 3rd day I went to make a call and when I checked my elbow, the 2 inch fatty bump was completely gone. After 2 years of it being there, it just went away. ( I laughed at the cowardice of my body.)
Yeah! No surgery needed. :D

I sometimes wake up with hellish cramps in my feet, next time I will try to think them away instead of jumping up and down and yelling!

And I agree it is the most powerful. I can talk myself into and occasionally out of just about anything!
