Can I stream Netflix anywhere in the world?

Asked by Zone36 (416points) July 20th, 2010

I’m planning on traveling for work and I was wondering if you could stream Netflix from anywhere you have a connection. What would I need?

Are there any other similar services?

No, you cannot stream Netflix from anywhere in the world. It is currently only available in the US, but they have announced plans to open streaming only (no DVD service) in Canada this fall.

Yes, you can, but you have to buy an additonal device & set it all up properly at home. Here are links to two of the most popular device that allow you to do this.

Why would you want too. My husbands cousin has it and the list of movies they offer for streaming suck.

I wanted to stream tv shows. Could anyone explain exactly how slingbox works?

Is it like a DVR that you can access remotely?

That’s exactly what it is. You remotely connect to the device via internet from anywhere in the world, which is hooked up to your tv/netflix or whatever else you have it hooked up too, and you can view all the video content by video streaming it & also be able control it live. Key is to just set up properly at home & you will have to install their costume software on the computer you wish to view it on.

There may be a loophole if you’ve got the netflix wii disc.
You could always try it on the wii.
