Registered package from the UK been at ISC NEW YORK NY since 7/28.. Anyone know what to do?

Asked by goodmoodgirl (123points) August 13th, 2010

I have a Registered package from the UK when I track it.. it says:

Label/Receipt Number: RJ33 1930 004G B
Service(s): Registered Mailâ„¢
Status: Inbound International Arrival
Your item arrived in the United States in ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) at 6:12 pm on July 29, 2010. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later. .... Its costume jewelry value under $50.. What the HECK?? Called USPS all they tell me is… they do not have it yet.. I said so your telling me it is stuck in customs.. USPS said “No that is not what I said.. I said it has not been released to us yet”... SURE does have (USPS) after NY. Anyone have any suggestions?

I am waiting for a piece of Registered Mail that was sent from Ireland and arrived at ISC New York on July 17, 2010. The people I have spoken with are unclear as to the process once mail arrives (i.e., when the mail is in customs, released, etc.). I have been unable to speak with someone who can speak authoritatively about the mail handling process. I remain confident that the mail will arrive, though my confidence is eroded with each passing day. I saw a piece that took over 30 days: RR 116 363 076 SE
