When you plug in your iPod touch to your computer with iTunes installed and providing you have internet access it will ask you if you would like to update your iPod touch for $19.99, if you update your iPod touch you will get the 5 programs from apple, the wiggle feature and you will be able to install apps on your ipod touch!

If you don’t choose to go this route the only other way would be to jailbreak your ipod, which I do know how to do but since that isn’t the route you’d like to take, your inclined to either pay or stay!

At the moment the only way to get 3rd Party apps is to find them as web-apps, or to wait until June when you will be able to pay for an update which will allow you to add apps using the App Store.

At the moment, there is no way to add 3rd Party Apps that run natively on the iPod Touch because Apples are protecting the platform until stable apps can be developed using the SDK, and then approved by Apple.

You can not add 3rd party apps currently and bluemukaki is correct with the June update. All the $19.99 update is going to do is let you add bookmarks on to your screen.

Wait until the 2.0 software is released in June.
