Maybe for special events, or on the fringe, or among those that are interested in following the more obscure trends that come and go. I don’t really see that becoming a mainstream thing.. but, I guess you never know. Over the top, extremely bright eye makeup has been popular for a few years now already, and I haven’t seen anyone walking down the street with a neon superhero mask painted on their face.

It’s been done for kids at school festivals and street fairs for over 20 years. Some of those kids are now in their twenties and consider it a completely normal form of self expression.

I’ve seen it a few of the concerts I’ve been to lately. It always seems to be abstract, and in interesting colors. It’s rather fun looking. I’m too old to do something like this myself, there are lines that don’t get crossed.

Who knows. It has always been a trend to look like a jackass.

Face painting is illegal in my state, except for school, carnival functions, or concerts. It’s considered a mask and wearing masks in Tennessee is a law violation.

Face painting is not new at all. My wife painted many chidrens faces at my sons elementary school, years ago at their carnival.

@john65pennington So no masks or painted faces at Mardi Gras parties tonight in Tennessee? No masks or painted faces on Halloween?

Sounds positively unAmerican.
