So, what are gas prices like where you are?

Asked by Stefaniebby (1170points) March 9th, 2011

Right now, in southern Minnesota gas is at $3.56/gallon. Pretty ridiculous to me! What about where you’re from?

Well, it’s about £1.30 a litre here, which is about $9 a gallon.

Wow! I can’t even imagine that. Where are you from?

filmfann's avatar

East Bay, near San Francisco. $4 easy.

Zaku's avatar

Seattle. $3.47 for regular at Costco. More like $3.67 at other stations. That was on March 7, 2011.

Hawaii – $4/gallon or about $1/liter

$3.97 at the cheap-o place in Lafayette CA, east of Oakland/Berkeley.

Crazy. If you remember What were gas prices like a year ago? Here they weren’t nearly 3 dollars. Maybe like $2.50 on bad day.

$3.96/gal for regular. $4.29/gal for diesel. I remember when I was in elementary school it was under a dollar/gal.

Seattle is running around $3.89/gallon for Premium and $4.15/gallon for Diesel as of 9 Mar 2011.

I want a Nissan Leaf so I don’t have to worry about it any more!

Tropical_Willie's avatar

$3.49 / gal for regular. $3.85 for 93 octane. Diesel for more than $3.95 Raleigh, NC area.

DominicX's avatar

Not sure exactly, but plus and premium are above $4 here in Palo Alto.

Breaking my bank. I can’t go anywhere because of the gas prices holding me hostage. Last I checked, Regular Unleaded was $3.69/gal in Seattle.

Stefaniebby's avatar

@ette_ I feel ya on that. Only place I can go is work, otherwise I’m home, counting pennies.

perspicacious's avatar

I paid $3.56 at Sams Club yesterday. The other stations were around $3.75.

Like the mid three dollar range. I really stopped paying attention to gas prices many, many years ago. Nothing you could really do about it, and when you need a fill up it’s not like you could comparitive shop. I still drive where I want when I want and won’t let it control me, that would be silly. Baseball season is coming, and every night I’ll be driving to the old ball park. Let them gas prices try and stop me…..

BarnacleBill's avatar

Just under $4. I can drive for almost a month on a tank of gas so it doesn’t really bother me. I’m not much for running around.

jonsblond's avatar

$3.53 in western Illinois. My husband travels over 70 miles round trip for work each day. These rapidly rising prices are really hurting us. :/

john65pennington's avatar

$3.19 in Nashville and 3 cents less at a Kroger store, which is Shell gasoline or $3.16 for regular unleaded.

faye's avatar

1.045 per litre in Alberta for reg.

El_Cadejo's avatar

3.52 this morning in south jersey,

I dont know how you guys in europe handle it at that price.

@uberbatman Public transportation. Lucky bastards. ;)

downtide's avatar

@markferg same here in this part of the UK too.

FireMadeFlesh's avatar

Gas is about 75c a litre, but petrol is about $1.40 per litre.

rooeytoo's avatar

$1.367 for diesel (top end of Australia) and can anyone tell me why diesel is now more expensive than regular petrol or gasoline? I thought it required less processing and therefore should be less expensive.

Harold's avatar

In Sydney I saw regular petrol at $1.32 per litre tonight- the cheapest it’s been for a while. Gas (ie LPG) is around 70c per litre.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I’m in the UK like @markferg and yes, the fuel is expensive here. When I was in the States last year was shocked by how cheap the fuel is over there compared to here.

FireMadeFlesh's avatar

@rooeytoo Higher demand. With the influx of diesel cars from Europe, we require the same volume to service a greater number of people, so the price goes up to compensate.

mowens's avatar

America is spoiled.

rooeytoo's avatar

@FireMadeFlesh – what a pain, but I have a Citroen C3 and I go about 1000k on 42 liters so I can’t complain too much.

FireMadeFlesh's avatar

@rooeytoo Yeah, I don’t think so. My Ford Focus can do 650km on 50 litres, or 800km on a long trip, but it still hurts to be paying over $60 to fill it up.
