So, what's right about you?

Asked by DWW25921 (6498points) October 1st, 2013

I covered what’s wrong in a previous question. Share what’s the best thing you have going for you right now. What’s good, what’s right and what’s positive in your life right now? This isn’t a narcissist question as it encompasses all things including your surroundings and the people in your life.

For me, I have some really loyal friends. My truck works, my roof doesn’t leak and I feel respected by most of the people I know. I’ve married a good woman and even my cats are cute. I’m poor as dirt but generally pleased with my current situation.

The leaves are starting to change here in upstate NY and the colors are amazing. Snow will be next but what the heck, it’s pretty now.

Outside the window of my room in rehab are a scarlet swamp maple and sumac. There are dark-eyed juncos flitting around and one lazy catbird sunning himself on a branch.

My new knee brings my average age down to 47.

My b-day was a few days ago and I got Allie’s gift today. A really nice soldering iron that will be perfect for making stained glass. I finally have the time, space, and tools to start making some pieces I have wanted to make for a long time. I just need to get my mom to drive me to the stained glass place to get some glass. (yes, I am 36 years old and have never had my license)

I spend more than I make, but I am still able to stay fiscally stable.
I have questionable taste in humor, but perfect taste in music and film.
I married very well.

I can’t drive anymore but I have friends willing to help out. I’m married to a wonderful man, and I still get to colunteer at the Red Cross, which I love. My life is still full.

I have great friends, a lovely place to live (for now at least) and an adorable new doggy companion.

I’ve reached the point in my life when I realize some of the things I thought were “right” about me aren’t, and some of the things I thought were “wrong” aren’t either. A mixed blessing.

Oh, and I love my big fluffy body pillow.

@Adirondackwannabe Leaves are starting to change in West Virginia too. Just a few more weeks…

@gailcalled That sounded poetic!

@johnpowell I’ve dabbled a little in stained glass! It’s an expensive hobby but the creations are worth it!

@filmfann I had to learn the hard way that credit has to be paid back! Luckily my past mistakes are behind me. Took some years to fix though.

@GracieT Keeping buys has a lot to do with feeling content, I think.

@janbb I’m actually a dog person but he died a few years ago and this stray cat decided I was her person. I’ve never bothered to argue the point with her…

@ucme Congrats on the mug and high functioning dong!

@Pachyderm_In_The_Room You really can’t beat a nice comfy pillow. I can totally dig it.

I have a great, albeit weird, sense of humor, two precious daughters that I’m very proud of, a hot husband, a brand new computer on which to vent my daily frustrations by killing things on world of Warcraft, and I haven’t murdered anyone in real life, despite the occasional desire to do so.

Headhurts's avatar

I have a home, food in the cupboards, and a very very sexy man to share it with. Nothing else, but who needs more than that.

DWW25921's avatar

@WillWorkForChocolate I tried to play WOW until another player told me that if I drop all my money on the ground at a certain spot it would double. Then they said it would only work if I dropped my weapons and armor too. After I was robbed he killed me. Good times.

@Headhurts I don’t like to share my food. Neither does my cat. Which is fine, I don’t see how an animal can get fat and healthy on the crap we feed them. Silly kitty.

I am thankful for my family and the new area that I am living. I am also thankful that my children are healthy and happy with the new area. Everything lately seems to be falling into place as it should be.

I’m a good person, my bills are paid, hubs and mom are healthy, both vehicles are paid off and still running, job’s going well, pets are good. All is well in my world for once.

rojo's avatar

I am basically a good person, not perfect by any means, but basically good.

I enjoy a good joke (A skeleton walks into a bar and says: “Give me a beer…...and a mop”)

I have a great wife, kids and grandchildren and they are for the most part healthy, well adjusted and self-sufficient.

I have another vacation coming up and can afford to go somewhere.

My bowel movements are regular and easy.

There is beer in the fridge at home.

@rojo Nice bm comment- lol

@rojo Regularity is important and something to be thankful for as there are those of whom are not blessed in that regard.

I’ve got two scholarships to any college in Alaska that I want. My boyfriend is cute. I’m going to be moving soon, though I’m not sure exactly what’s going to work. This will be a good thing.

rojo's avatar

Ooooh, @AshLeigh since you have two, can I have one? I want to go back to Alaska.

This weekend we purchased four season tickets to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, and we got four free tickets dated 11/30 through 12/23. We will also receive four free tickets for next year. We got the bonus because of buying early.

The timing is perfect, because that covers my son’s anniversary. We are going to have a full weekend with two nights in a complimentary hotel room with points earned.

I have had my best poo’s In my life this year. I feel god enough to learn on my own.

rojo's avatar

@talljasperman Freudian slip or was it that good?

DWW25921's avatar

@rojo Well, regularity is important… I reckon it’s just celebrated more enthusiastically with some folks…

rojo's avatar

Yeah, but to feel like a god….......... That has to be a poo of quality

DWW25921's avatar

I had hoped that was a typo…
