I'm addicted to warm lemon water. Do you drink it and why?

Asked by Aster (20023points) February 5th, 2014

Well, it’s more than just warm. I found it on the internet and just love it in cold weather. I take a mug, put 3 whole cinnamon sticks in it, 3 whole cloves, one teaspoon of sugar and lots of Sweet Leaf stevia. Then I microwave it for 50 seconds, remove and squeeze in the juice of a lemon. Do you do it too?

I drink hot, sweetened lemon juice once in a while. I’m not addicted, though, and too much of it makes my teeth hurt.

I take lemon and ginger to make a tea which I drink for therapeutic reasons all year round.

I drink hot unsweetened lemon water instead of tea or coffee in restaurants. I’m not a fan of regular tea or coffee, and I like this instead.

No, but I drink ice water with lemon in it all the time.

That is a very healthy drink and good for you! I went to a nutritionist who actually recommended warm water with lemon. It took getting use to but now I actually like it.

OH I should have mentioned, I don’t put sugar in it. try it without the sugar next time.

I make a bunch of different infused simple syrups for cocktails, but some times I’ll just mix the syrup with carbonated water to make my own soda real quick.

Yesterday I had tangerine honey soda.

If not for sweet leaf stevia I might not drink lemon water. It would be too sour. And the whole cloves and cinnamon sticks really make it special.

Warm water (cold water must go through the process of warming up and does not have the same stimulating effects) immediately starts the hydration process. Lemon water stimulates the lymphatic system to remove the toxins accumulated in the lymph glands, colon, and bladder overnight. Adding ginger further helps in elimination of waste through the colon and studies have shown that it provides protection against the development of cancer cells and polyps. Lemon ginger water is also extremely beneficial in cleansing the liver.

I prefer hot water with lime in it, but lemons are more often carried in restaurants.
