Does anyone else think that If Clinton wins the election, and the Dems overturn GOP Congressional majorities, Obama will be appointed to the Supreme Court?

I take issue with the blurb above this box which reads “this is the most important part of this question”

No.

He’s a politician, not a jurist. Granted, he taught constitutional law, but he has no experience on the bench.

It will never happen.

It would be a smart move on Clinton’s part. I am not sure Obama would want to do it though. He is better as an advocate than as a referee.

It’s possible, but not expected.
I think Obama would make a fine jurist.
If Trump really wanted to scare the electorate, he would say that Hillary was going to appoint Gloria Allred.

@filmfann – it would be kind of fun for Obama to be on the court with the Chief Justice who basically called Obama a liar…

I’d love to see Obama and The Notorious RBG chilling together on the bench.

Not holding my breath, though.

Obama put in his eight years and deserves a break. He doesn’t need a real job and I think it would be confining.

There are enough qualified judges and we will have a Senate in January willing and able to do its job.

There have been several Supreme Court justices who have had no previous experience on the bench. It’s far from unheard of.

I doubt it. If his name is going to be put in the Supreme Court, I doubt it happens in the next few years. Does he even want the job? I haven’t heard Obama talk about his interested for post presidency. If I were him I’d spend time with my girls, before they leave for college, and work part-time doing something. Speeches, helping on some sort of project he’s interested in. Maybe Michelle wants to do more in her career again, and he takes a little bit of a back seat?

Not likely. I’d rather him be a diplomat . I hope he stays in some role.
