What fictional universe would you like to live in? Why?

Asked by Sneki95 (7017points) October 20th, 2016

Be it a literary work, a movie, a video game, any fictional universe, fantastic or realistic. Which one would you like to live in, or at least visit, and why?

Middle-Earth. Either in Minas Tirith or The Shire.

^^^ Definitely the Shire for me!

My favorite literary places grwoing up were the Lake District in Swallows and Amazons, and Puddleby-on-Marsh.

Westworld, or any other western cowboy bandit type scene.
I fancy myself as a gunslinger see, dressed all in black, guns slung across my hips & all the fuckable women riding me like the studmuffin bad guy I really am :D

Pratchett’s Discworld! No question.

Babylon 5

It was done so well and with amazing attention to detail that i could easily imagine living there.

It was a complete little world all by itself plus always fascinating alien races and memorable characters passing through.

Of course having the prolific and uber-creative Harlan Ellison on board as a consultant didnt hurt anything either.

(Hes the original writer of the iconic Star Trek episode “City on the Edge of Forever”)

The world of Phillip Marlowe. because I love film noir First off I’m a realist and I don’t really like fantasy creatures and the like (maybe ghosts would be better), and I don’t like too much sugar coating either. Marlowe’s world doesn’t shy away from the harsh reality: people cheat in any circumstance, not every good battle succeeds, death comes to any of us… But what makes the world desirable is that there is still hope. There are still good people with good intention still fighting for their right. Marlowe himself is an honest man whose morality stands firm despite the circumstances. He is the hero for many, taking justice in his hand and stopping at nothing to maintain it. His mentality is a lot like mine.

@Hawaii_Jake I read one Pratchett’s book. His world seems full of adventures!

@janbb I don’t know where is that from, but I bet it’s awesome, if it was named after candies!

Firefly. I already do on the weekends. Absalom crew, report. There is an abandoned space station we need to board and pick clean. Should be a lucrative salvage if we can get it done quietly.

@Sneki95 Candyland was a board game when I was growing up. I thought of various fantasy worlds but all of them have really scary things in them.

A Final Fantasy game. Cure AIDS by sleeping in hotels for 20 bucks and find wealth by slaughtering wildlife, booya!
