Did you get support from your family in tricky situations?

Asked by imrainmaker (8380points) November 26th, 2017

By support i mean the feeling of being there with you when you were struggling for any reason. Did you feel the backing of your family was there no matter what or you felt alone in such situations? Did they believe in your abilities?

Yes. Two of my brothers would support me in anything. The other one was just indifferent, to everyone.
My mom also would support me in everything I did.
One of my brothers that lives nearby has encouraged me in every hobby I have taken up and always tells me how good I am.
I had been sick recently and he was with me every step of the way. Yes, he did get on my nerves a couple of times, but I did apologize for biting his head off.

I have been blessed with a supportive family. I made many terrible mistakes in my late teens, including being arrested, and they always had my back. Now that I’m in my late 40s I still struggle with some things but I can always count on my loving family for emotional support. I’m lucky.

Mixed. Some of my family is very supportive, some is not. Different people, different views I guess.

I might as well be adrift on the ocean on a raft.
I have zero support from my family. I have zero family from my family.

I’m with @seawulf575 here. Mixed results. Mixed results with the same people usually.

My Mom probably is the closest thing to a constant. My father, it could depend on the time of day. ..

Yes, I am prone to get into messy situations every few years…

Yes, I did, and am very glad and grateful for it, particularly in comparison to what I’ve seen in other families.

Depends on the situation, largely. And I’m talking about the people who really love me and are close to me, my immediate family and my grandma. I know some certain relatives who will be more than happy to see me fall to the bottom of the hole and more than willing to make me fall faster.

I don’t really care though. I have learned to be self-reliant.

^It proves that relatives have same mentality irrespective of country / culture…)

Yes. I don’t think I’d even be alive today if my family didn’t support me as well as they do.
