Has your doctor asked if you got the flu shot this year?

Asked by KNOWITALL (29692points) November 7th, 2020

My doctor recommended an early shot, then followed up with a text to confirm I got it.
I was curious if that’s happening elsewhere, as the follow up is new. Thank you. And yes I got one early October.

I know they are making a special effort to expand flu vaccination this year to mitigate against the possibility of a “twindemic.” I was in my doctor’s office in September and got a flu shot then so no need for a reminder.

No, my doctor knows I work in a hospital where it is mandatory to get a flu shot unless you are allergic.

The VA hospital here is going through changes, and things are a bit disorganized.
Since covid, vets are being put on telehealth. That means many must be supplied with phones or tablets, and then coached by phone about how to use the system.
Also, they are keeping the hospital empty as possible in case needed for overflow covid cases from other hospitals.

They haven’t contacted me about a flu shot. I usually get one, but, whatever.

I have a virtual appointment in Dec. I’ll probably get chewed out then.

No; but , then I went to two new doctors and neither mentioned it. They just wanted to do testing lots of humiliating tests. I didnt get out of there until closing time. So if it isnt important to specialists should I bother?

I get reminders from the info management software they use for online access to my records & appointments. When I got the shot and let them know it stops (until next year).

I had Guillain Barre Syndrome about 12 years ago so I can’t get it. My doctor knows and so he doesn’t ask.

Since my stroke, I automatically get my flu shot every Oct 15 & I avoid doctors at all cost…so NO I’ve not been asked.

I always get a flu shot as soon as they are available, so no need for a reminder email.

Interesting, thanks all.
I figure its a precaution, at least its done.

I was asked at CVS. They had time to do it, I had time to get it done when they asked, so it’s done. I have never received a reminder in any other way.
