I give lurve if a response makes me laugh or think, or if a question sounds like one I would ask.

Lately I’ve been giving a lot less lurve…

Ever have one of those weeks when it feels like all of your lurve is from visiting two days in a row?

Why would you want to do this? You realize that lurve doesn’t correlate to money or respect right? It’s just a number.

Thoughtful responses, sarcasm (I love me some sarcasm), funny responses….the things I love in real life…

If I chuckle or ponder following something I’ve read I lurve.

I concur. The smart one-liners seem to be popular, I guess because they make people laugh. Later on, the more complete, thoughtfull (and sensible) answers ter lurve. Often, if you are one of the first few on a question, you can get lurve. I have to say, I really like lurve. I like thinking that someone thinks my answer is useful.

I agree with daloon who concurs with the others.

When someone is scanning the answers, the extremely short concise but also funny answers tend to get the most lurve. The shorter your answer, the more likely it is to be read.

I give lurve for many different reasons. Well thought out answers, things that make me laugh, interesting questions that promote good discussion or a “why didn’t I think of that?” response. Sometimes, I give it just to affirm someone’s feelings or story…like a hug.

I gave everyone lurve who answered “over” on the toilet paper question.

Any question or answer that brings the word ‘great’ or a synonym to mind gets a click of lurve from me – whether it’s funny, smart, witty, thought-provoking, well thought out or made me discover/learn something…

The type of lurve-worthy response depends on the question. I often give lurve if I find that someone else has said what I was going to say, and especially if they said it better! I don’t typically give lurve for sarcasm or one-liners unless they truly are appropriate to the question and I wholeheartedly agree.

They’re hard to describe, but I know ‘em when I see ‘em.

Well, for me, I see good results by calling someone a lurve whore.

I second what augustlan said (and gave her lurve for it!)

psst, augustlan. I hugged you just now.

@rob: Win.

I feel lurved and hugged…and happy! Thanks, guys.

I find I get most of mine by being extremely forward and controversial. Either that or standing my ground in a debate. Also I get a lot when I confront dogmatic religious bible thumpers with dubious intentions… (note: that’s not why I confront them.)

@delirium:....and you do it so well! :)

You know that means the world. :D
