Have Andrew & Ben biked to your house on a Saturday and made you fresh guacamole yet?

Asked by forestGeek (9310points) March 24th, 2009

Just curious because it says they’ll do that if you join. Hmmm, I’ve been waiting quite a while with Chips & Salsa in hand.

They were over last Saturday. Where were you?

KatawaGrey's avatar

They’re waiting until i move into my new apartment. We’re having a house warming party.

eponymoushipster's avatar

They made pb&j and we watched spongebob. It was grand.

forestGeek's avatar

@chyna = Lucky! I was at my house with chips & salsa, waiting, like I always do.

You know, it’s the gosh-darnest thing——they haven’t! I figured it was like a “provide your own avocados” kind of thing and I just can’t keep them in the house! Everyone keeps eating them before Ben and Andrew even get a chance to show up!

willbrawn's avatar

NO! I totally want some though.

PupnTaco's avatar

Yes, but you don’t want to know their process for softening the avocados.

Lightlyseared's avatar

No. But if they get here by bike I will be impressed.

cak's avatar

If they biked to my house, I’d make the guacamole! That would be one long bike ride.

elijah's avatar

No, but I did get autographed photos.

AstroChuck's avatar

No. What’s up with that, Bendrew?

jonsblond's avatar

It took Andrew a bit longer to get here than Ben. He had a flat tire and had to use his Big Wheel instead. He was even wearing a helmet! I believe blondesjon got some awesome pictures of him.

Last Saturday Ben and I went mountain biking together. We made pancakes over a campfire.

adreamofautumn's avatar

@cak I agree. If they biked to my house i’d cook anything they want, because that’s a hell of a ride! :)

EmpressPixie's avatar

No! The rats! I love guac! I’m very upset now. Though, I suppose like adream and cak, if they actually biked here I’d probably make the food (and do the dishes, even though Fluther keeps promising to).

cak's avatar

@EmpressPixie I’m still waiting for the dishes to be done, as well. I even bought them really cool gloves to protect their hands. —they better hurry, that stuff is really getting caked on!

Trustinglife's avatar

Before I knew about Fluther, I knew Ben. We were on the same Ultimate frisbee team. He biked to our games. Without avocadoes.

KatawaGrey's avatar

@Trustinglife: No avocadoes? That must have been disappointing.

cak's avatar

Holy cow. They are so totally baiting us with the promise of guacamole…they don’t have any intention of making it, do they? Is this like a bad campaign promise? You know, like in high school? The guy that promises to abolish classes on Friday, just to get elected to Student Class President. My entire Fluther world is shattered. Ok, so not shattered, but my rosy colored glasses are off!

janbb's avatar

No – but someone keeps sending me cakes…..

marinelife's avatar

Give me my guacamole now—I love the stuff!

eponymoushipster's avatar

@petethepothead no you didn’t! We all know you need a frizzer for pancakes!

arnbev959's avatar

@eponymoushipster: I guess you haven’t seen Ben’s portable frizzer. Ask him to show it to you sometime.

warpling's avatar

I say Fluther meetup with just that!

AstroChuck's avatar

@Trustinglife @KatawaGrey- No avocadoes, but perhaps avocados.

Trustinglife's avatar

No way – you’re right! Caught with my pants down with a typo.

However, this blog seems to back me up. So we’re not completely wrong. Just mostly wrong.

Potato—> Potatoes
Tomato—> Tomatoes

Avocado—> Avocadoes

right? even if it’s wrong, it sounds right. makes sense to me, anyway…

Trustinglife's avatar

Google disagrees. Way more hits on avocados than avocadoes. And Google is always right. They even asked me if what I meant was avocados.

La_chica_gomela's avatar

well hrmph to google….................your way still makes more sense.

AstroChuck's avatar

@La_chica_gomela- The English language isn’t supposed to make sense.

Trustinglife's avatar

Is AstroChuck supposed to make sense?

VzzBzz's avatar

Fantastic, I’ll get the house straightened up and some glasses chilled for them

AstroChuck's avatar

I’m not making sense?
Good. Then all is right with the world.

shadling21's avatar

Oh man, I could go for some guac right about now. How many days till Saturday?

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

I should send them my recipe for guac, it is the best recipe ever. Or maybe, I’ll take my tax refund, buy a dumptruck load of avacados and make enough to feed every jelly on here that got left out. You’ll have to bring your chips, I’ll have a shovel in the back of the dumptruck.

Jeruba's avatar

@AstroChuck, the English language does make sense. You just have to be really careful to put together only the pieces that go together and then look at them as a group, and you can talk about the consistency of all the rules that apply to that group.

Some groups have only one thing in them.

So you see, it’s not a sense problem. It’s a sorting problem.
