Sometimes I'll wear headbands but after a while I'll get this agonizing pain in the back of my jaw what should I do?

maybe they’re too tight, try wearing a looser fitting one? do you get the same pain from a tight pony tail?

AmbeJL's avatar

yea, i would say stop wearing tight headbands.

I assume that you are doing some sort of physical activity while wearing it. What happens if you do the same without the headband?

Your head and your jaw? That’s weird.

Stop wearing headbands.

If I wore shoes that gave me blisters, what would I do?

If I wore jeans so tight in the waist that I got a stomach-ache, what would I do?

If I picked up someone else’s glasses and got a migraine from wearing them, what would I do?

Do I see a pattern here?

How would you get a pain in your jaw from a headband, you’d think they’d be completely unrelated to each other. Maybe your eyebrows are raised too high.

Your headbands are either too tight or not shaped correctly for your skull shape. Put…the…headband…down. Step…away…from…the…skull-crunching…device.

How do stretchy cloth headbands feel?

@Samurai They pinch nerves behind your ears, restrict the blood-flow in capillaries, and exert unnatural pressure which causes bruises.

My jaw used to hurt after wearing tight headbands as well. As has been suggested, I found better fitting bands, and eventually quit altogether.

I have the same problem with headbands. I can only wear one for a little while before I start to get a headache and/or jaw ache. I’ve found that if I push the ends of the headband back a little so they aren’t directly behind my ears, it’s somewhat better.

I tried the stretchy bands, but they kind of slip right off my head.

Just don’t wear headbands?

When I was young before grade 3 i could wear them whenever, but it started in grade 3 and to this very day i cant, but I’ll try what @MissAusten said

Jaw pain is often associated with Heart attacks. Make sure the next headband you get isn’t cutting off circulation.

@filmfann yea no one wants to have a heart attack because of a headband. gimme something a little better.
